Let’s begin by acknowledging and appreciating the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, whose commitment to education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability continues to inspire the work we do in this Ministry.
Distinguished staff and students of the Air Force School of Nursing Science, it is my honor, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, to warmly welcome you to our Ministry today. Representing the Honourable Commissioner are, Malam Abubakar Ali, Special Assistant, alongside the Director of Environment, Alhaji Mu’azu.
This Ministry is charged with safeguarding public health through environmental protection, proper waste management, sanitation, conservation of natural resources, and the promotion of sustainable development. Our responsibilities directly connect with your noble calling as nurses, because without a safe and healthy environment, the burden of disease only increases.
Nursing, as you know, is not limited to hospital wards. It extends into communities, families, and the environment, promoting wellness, preventing disease, and supporting healthier lifestyles. These are values we share and uphold at the Ministry, and they reflect the holistic approach needed for a healthy society.
We therefore encourage you, as future frontline healthcare providers, to remain disciplined, compassionate, and committed to service. The state and the nation are counting on you not only to treat the sick but also to champion healthier living conditions in our communities.
