The Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, alongside the Permanent Secretary and senior officials of the Ministry, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Nuhu Bamali, for the formal presentation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) for the proposed gully erosion remediation sites across Zaria, Rigasa, Tudun Wada, and Kawo, covering a total of 31 kilometres under the World Bank assisted ACReSAL Project.

This visit marks another milestone in the implementation of key environmental sustainability initiatives in Kaduna State. It also reflects the unwavering commitment and visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, whose SUSTAIN Agenda continues to champion inclusive development, environmental resilience, and the upliftment of urban poor communities across the state.

Governor Uba Sani’s people oriented governance and dedication to sustainable urban renewal have placed Kaduna State at the forefront of proactive environmental management in Nigeria. His administration’s continuous engagement with development partners such as the World Bank through the ACReSAL Project demonstrates a firm resolve to protect lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure in vulnerable communities.

In his remarks, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Nuhu Bamali, commended the initiative and expressed his full support for the project. The Emir lauded the efforts of Governor Uba Sani for his consistent attention to environmental challenges affecting communities within the Zazzau Emirate and beyond.

The Ministry reiterates its commitment to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the RAP and the overall objectives of the ACReSAL Project in Kaduna State.
