Speaking from Brazil at the COP30 Climate Conference, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry Of Environment and Natural Resources Kaduna State, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, reaffirmed the State’s unwavering commitment to global climate action and sustainable development.

He elaborated on the resilient and transformative approach championed by the Kaduna State Government under the able and visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, noting that Kaduna has positioned itself as a model for subnational climate responsibility in Nigeria.

The Commissioner highlighted key actions being undertaken in Kaduna State, including:

– Strengthening climate resilience through innovative environmental policies

– Expanding renewable energy access and nature based solutions

– Boosting community participation in environmental governance

– Advancing green growth, sustainable land use, and ecosystem restoration

He emphasized that Senator Uba Sani’s administration continues to prioritize the climate actions, environment as a foundation for economic prosperity, public health, and long term sustainability.

In his remarks, Alhaji Abubakar Buba assured development partners, investors, and global climate stakeholders that Kaduna State is ready for deeper collaboration, committed to driving meaningful climate action, and fully aligned with Nigeria’s national and international climate obligations.
